About the Regulatory Intelligence team 
The Regulatory Intelligence team is responsible for Klarna’s process to monitor regulatory developments and to identify new/changed regulations which may have an impact on Klarna’s operations  around the world. Beyond monitoring and identifying relevant regulatory developments, the team ensures that the right business owners are made aware and take timely actions to address them. This means the team is involved at an early stage of all major regulatory driven  changes to Klarna’s product suite and expansions into new markets.

What you will do 
You will lead and grow the team and ensure that it’s capacity enables Klarna to grow into new markets. As the leader, you will be overall responsible for the business relationship with internal stakeholders. Being a leader at Klarna also means being part of the problem solving that the team is engaged in; which in this case includes assessing if new/changed regulations will impact Klarna, and following up with key business owners that they are able to take relevant actions within the given timelines.

Examples of responsibilities

    • Set the strategy and long term goals for the team and get sign-off from Klarna CFO and General Counsel.
    • Lead the team so that team members understand scope and priorities, and collaborate with them on what to achieve short and long term.
    • Monitor, identify and assess new/changed regulatory developments in all Klarna’s markets. This includes both as a single contributor, more importantly as a lead for internal experts and external advisors.
    • Communicate regulatory developments and initial assessments to relevant business owners to ensure that Klarna manages regulatory-driven change in a structured and proactive manner. 
    • Improve Klarna’s Regulatory Intelligence through development and optimization of processes and methods as well as by leveraging technology enablers. 

    You should have

      • +7  years of applicable work experience related to financially regulated product(s) in multiple markets with in the financial industry. Either from a bank, regulator or as an advisor.
      • Proven ability to analyze complex regulations and assess their implications in relation to various financial products, licenses and business models.  
      • Ability to communicate the implications of regulatory changes to business stakeholders in a clear and comprehensible manner. 
      • Ability to secure that own and others’ deliverables are timely and delivered with high quality.
      • Ability to multitask and operate in a fast paced environment.
      • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and in particular the ability to convey complex messages quickly and succinctly.

      You might also have

        • Experience in system implementation within the financial services industry.
        • A relevant postgraduate or professional qualification in regulatory compliance, law, financial services, accountancy, internal audit or finance.
