The Role
We are looking for a Lead Product (UX/UI) Designer to join our growing UK Team, to run and oversee the user experience and design of multiple products from conception through to launch and beyond. This is an opportunity to work alongside our internal Product & Engineering Teams, as well as other internal teams – such as Commercial and Creative – whilst aligning with stakeholders and our external clients to deliver the best experience for all our users. 

Responsibilities

    • Running and overseeing the user experience of products from conception to launch, in partnership with product managers, engineers and stakeholders.
    • Taking broad, conceptual ideas and turning them into useful and valuable products for both our core users – Clients & Creators.
    • Contributing to roadmaps and strategic decisions around the future direction of Vidsy products.
    • Designing end-to-end flows and experiences that are simple and elegant.
    • Defining, crafting and evolving designs within visual systems.
    • Collaborating with team members to identify, prioritise and implement design solutions in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
    • Mentoring and fostering Junior Product Design team members and working with the wider team to promote design thinking and continually raising our bar for quality.

    Requirements

      • Experience building applications/software/products that encompass an end-to-end experience.
      • Experience overseeing product direction and strategic thinking while developing product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the impact to people and the company.
      • Experience presenting work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts.
      • Comfortable facilitating and running workshops/interviews with clients and ability to incorporate research findings into designs.
      • Ability to use wireframes, flow diagrams, sketches, storyboards, mock ups, and/or high-fidelity prototypes to communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process.
      • Visual design skills with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, colour, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense and how these elements impact product function.
      • Designing with consistency, attention to detail, and knowledge of inclusivity and accessibility.

      Qualifications

        • 6-8+ years of relevant Product (UX & UI) Design experience (or equivalent).
        • Able to showcase your end-to-end design process across multiple projects, that include interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, and high-fidelity prototypes.
        • Expert level mastery of standard interactive design tools like Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, Principle, Figma, or similar software.
        • Experience with software such as Hotjar, Google Analytics, or similar is a plus.

        As a business Vidsy believes in the power of in-person connection and collaboration, but also recognises that the majority of work undertaken by our team can be done so effectively and efficiently in a remote environment. For that reason we’re spearheading a ‘virtual first’ environment, meaning our Team will work remotely the majority of the time – with the right kit and setup to ensure they can do so productively – with ‘hubs’ for in-person collaboration and team gatherings.
        For our UK based Team our hub will be London, meaning we welcome applications from across the UK as long as you’re open to travel into London, as and when needed.
