Head of People & Talent // JustPark
About the role
We’re one of the fastest growing tech companies in the UK. Over the last 12 months we’ve doubled the size of our team, and as we continue to grow we need to scale our People & Talent function to ensure that we continue to make JustPark a great place to work
You’ll lead our People Manager and the Talent Acquisition Manager in the delivery of ambitious People & Talent strategy that supports the continued growth of the business and ensures our people-focused culture is at the heart of the employee experience. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of the People & Talent budget and have oversight of the headcount plan and headcount costs.
You’ll develop people strategies and initiatives that will complement the evolving needs of the business and support our mission, vision and values. You’ll design and support the delivery of clearly defined and measurable plans for talent development, reward & recognition, performance management, L&D and employee retention.
Driving continuous improvements in the running of the People & Talent department, you’ll embed an effective policy and procedures framework and drive efficiencies in processes. You’ll establish systems, tools and processes to ensure all People & Talent data is reliable and informative, including the development of dashboards and reporting that informs the business and drives data-driven decision making.
To give you more of an idea of the kind of projects you’ll be working on, here are just some of the initiatives our People & Talent team have delivered recently
- Implementation of the annual performance management review process
- Delivered organisational change with restructures in our Commercial function as well as Product & Engineering to ensure we are set up for success as we continue to grow
- Successfully organised our annual retreat, involving 80+ employees from 4 countries for 3 days of workshops and planning sessions to enable our 2020 strategic planning
- Developed process maps and supporting collateral for recruitment and onboarding to ensure we are delivering an exceptional experience to both candidates and new joiners
- Project managed an office relocation, providing an exceptional work environment for our office-based team
You’ll have strong experience in a senior HR role with broad experience across all HR disciplines. You’ll ideally have experience in a start-up or scale-up environment, with a track record of building HR as a strategic function within a high-growth environment.
Proven experience of operating as a trusted advisor to senior management and the Executive team is essential, either as a Senior HRBP or HR leadership position. You’ll be highly credible, comfortable standing up for something you believe is right, and challenging when you see something that could be better. And you’ll welcome the challenge from your team when they do the same, because we’re all working towards a common goal.
Strong project management skills are critical and experience with Prince 2 beneficial. You’ll also have strong change management experience, with a track record of continuous improvement. You’ll bring an analytical mindset and a data-driven approach, able to support recommendations with clear business case and evidence.
You’ll have previous line management, able to coach and develop direct reports. But while you’ll be able to operate at a strategic level, you’ll be equally focused on hands-on delivery.
Our teams work hard to make JustPark a success, so it’s important to us that they can share in that success. That’s why we offer stock options to every member of the team. We work hard to achieve some ambitious goals with the knowledge we’re building something truly valuable.
We trust that our team has the best interests of our customers at heart, which means we trust you to know what’s needed to get the job done. Whether that’s working the hours that suit you, setting you up for remote working or making sure you have the right kit, we’ll work with you to create the right environment for you to succeed. Plus we know it’s not all about work! That’s why we also offer benefits like unlimited holiday and enhanced maternity leave.
We’re in this for the long term, and we have big ambitions for the future. To help us get there, we want to grow our own superstars from within. We fund additional training, provide mentoring and work with you to develop a career plan so we can help you get where you want to go, too.
