Financial Controller // ROLI

We seek an experienced Financial Controller to develop the processes and systems which underpin our dynamic growth and development.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for oversight of ROLI’s internal financial functions, including, but not limited to, board- and executive-level reporting, forecast management, monthly management accounts, VAT returns, year-end accounting and audits, payroll and other regular financial processes.

This job will require extensive financial and management acumen, with preferred candidates having experience in the hardware and/or technology sectors. If you have the energy and determination to rapidly advance your career in a start-up environment, this is a unique opportunity.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee ROLI’s fiscal operations, ranging from monthly management accounts to budget oversight and general accounting
  • Develop and maintain our financial forecast, ensuring accurate KPI tracking and communication together with the current team
  • Build scalable and robust budget systems and financial structures as the company grows
  • Report regularly to the VP of Finance & Business Analytics, CEO and wider Executive Team on key company metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Provide experience and knowledge at all levels of financial controls and reporting as the company develops

Your Qualifications: 

  • A Certified Management Accountant (ACCA/ACA), that is well versed with UK GAAP and IFRS
  • 3+ years of experience as a Financial Controller
  • A proven track record of building scalable finance structures and systems, including oversight of share options and contracts
  • Experience managing monthly payroll and PAYE compliance
  • Experience submitting VAT returns, producing monthly management accounts and year-end submissions, including other accounting related experience
  • The ability to create and manage a dynamic financial forecast, with in-depth forecasting analysis
  • The ability to build a scalable budgeting structure for diverse multi stakeholder projects
  • Exceptional written and spoken English
  • Flawless presentation skills
  • Extremely comfortable working with, and integrating into, a tight-knit team
  • A high level of proficiency in accounting software management (Ideally using NetSuite), Word, Excel, Google Drive, etc
  • Proficiency in financial forecasting and modelling (Ideally using Adaptive Insights)
  • Experience and an interest in mentoring team members through general accounts principals

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience with supply chain management and liaising with multiple suppliers, in various locations
  • Ideally past experience in a startup or SMB
